Anthony Furey makes some good points here about the hypocrisy of the left -- I am enjoying hearing so many of my friends who supported David Miller now complaining about Rob Ford's "wasting money." Uh, what? Where have you people been for the past seven years?
As for making the TTC an essential service, what I would like to see -- as someone who relies on the TTC -- is some private competition allowed. Apparently, both London (England) and Stockholm have allowed private competition into their municipal transit services, to the great improvement of the services themselves and to the great delight of passengers.
