Loved this week's episode and really think this season ties Season One in its greatness. My favourite scene this week was when Peggy and Don were sitting at the bar and she mentioned that everyone thought she slept with him to get her job. And what becomes clear is that it bothers her mostly because people don't think she's attractive enough to be with Don Draper. Here is Peggy's line:
Everybody thinks I slept with you to get the job. Like it's so funny because the possibility is so remote. Wonderful. I think most women, being honest, would admit that this would bother them as well, possibly more than the likelihood that someone would believe they got their job as a result of, er, favours.

"You know you're cute as hell."
"Men don't exactly stop and stare on teh streets"
"Do you want that?"
"That's not what you were supposed to say."
"What do you care what I think?"
And then the line you cite, and I love Don's response, which is so understandable.
"It's not because you aren't attractive."
Which he follows with some nonsense, though HE thinks he believes it.
"I have to keep rules about work."
I also love the later "Not as attractive as some of your other secretaries" (refuting his delusion).
It does make me wonder about Weiner's life.
This season is cashing in so many wonderful chips, and creating a lot of their own!
