Francois Hollande and Mario Monti met in Rome yesterday and I gather all the reporters in attendance at their press conference were paying attention to something else: the Italy-Croatia match. Watch the clip and you will hear Monti, talking soberly about Euro-economic matters, being interrupted by shouts of joy as Andrea Pirlo scores. I think it's great -- life is hard. You have to have fun stuff, too. And I love Monti's barely missing a beat, just turning to Hollande and explaining that there is a match in play.
