I've always thought Romeo Dallaire was overrated and I've long failed to understand the esteem in which he is held by the left. I mean, he stood by while the most atrocious things were happening and did little or nothing to stop them. I do feel compassion for the man because I feel his ineptitude/lack-of-courage did not come out of a malevolent place. And I'm certain he pays the price each day for his flaws. But as I said, he has been given a pass, where other military leaders -- superior ones -- have not.
