It's interesting how so many leftists are using this interview between Rob Ford and Carol Off as proof that he is dumb or arrogant. To me, it indicates precisely the opposite. It indicates that he has his priorities straight -- he is more concerned with coaching the football game he had promised to coach and not letting kids down than with catering to our public broadcaster. As far as I'm concerned, he gave Off as much attention as she deserves...perhaps too much. If this had been David Miller or George Smitherman, the Toronto left would be cooing and billing about how he is devoted to community and understands that a promise to kids is more important than sucking up to media.
First he was mad about infidel troops in Saudi Arabia. That was the whole "justification" for 9-11. Then he was mad about infidels in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then he was upset about alleged Koran-flushings in Gitmo, then he was upset...blah blah blah. Now?
France stands by its law banning burqa-like Muslim veils despite a threatening new message from al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, President Nicolas Sarkozy said Friday.
In a recently released audio tape, bin Laden threatens to kill French citizens in revenge for France's law to ban Muslim veils that cover the face, and because France has troops in Afghanistan.
(Emphasis mine.) It's always something! I tells ya, there's no pleasing this man.
